Description:

Avenues for women to learn basic techniques of woodworking and feel comfortable and safe are sadly scarce. We're offering this intensive 3-day course to empower women to conceptualize and carry out basic carpentry projects.

Topics include:

  • essential tools and their proper use
  • safe and effective use of power tools
  • structural integrity
  • basic techniques such as cutting, nailing, drilling, driving, and leveling.

We will also tour the various buildings of OAEC to show different styles of carpentry: standard professional, natural building, temporary, artistic, and hippie funk!

Come together with other women to share in this practical and empowering workshop.
