BEING A PREPARED AUDIENCE MEMBER
You can buy tickets to Chautauqua events at OAEC by using one of the following options:
- Mail
a check. Make your check out to “OAEC” and include in the memo line
the name of the event for which you are purchasing tickets. Your
tickets will be held at Will Call. Let us know under what name you
would like to have the tickets held. Mail your order to:
OAEC/Chautauqua, 15290 Coleman Valley Rd. Occidental, CA 95465
- Internet purchase. We use an online ticketing agency called Brown Paper Tickets (www.brownpapertickets.com)
that has proven to be convenient both for us and you the audience
members. Click on the event on our Performances page for which you would like to
purchase tickets. You will be taken to the event page at the BPT site
where you can place your order using a credit card. They charge a
modest service fee. If you do not wish to pay the service fee, then
the first option above (mailing a check) is the way to go.

Ticket Policy:
- All seating is general admission. Purchase of a ticket does not guarantee you a seat in the main seating area. Seating is first come, first served. We recommend that you arrive early to get the seat that you desire, especially for the Revue shows. “Doors” open an hour before each show.
- If you are mobility challenged, please contact the OAEC office (707-874-1557 ext. 201) for special parking and seating arrangements.
- In
the event of inclement weather, refunds will be offered if the show is
stopped less than one hour after the beginning of the show.

- Remember the words of Mark Twain: “The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.” This may not be San Francisco, but our weather is similar. We’ve had some nice balmy evenings for our shows, but it has also been down jacket and scarf weather in July.
- The Walk. The path from the parking area to the North Garden Theater is about a five minute walk over sloping and sometimes uneven surfaces. If you feel that this is more than you want to deal with, please contact our office for special parking arrangements.
- Bring a flashlight or headlamp. Most of the path to the theater is lit. But having your own source of light won’t hurt.
- If you would be interested in bringing a picnic dinner to enjoy before a show, be our guest. “Doors” open an hour before each show and there are tables and chairs outside the theater area at which you can sit and enjoy a meal. Desserts and hot drinks will be available at some Chautauqua events (e.g. the Revue).
