If you are interested in a deeper involvement in our work and would like a rewarding and challenging experience, you may want to apply for an internship at OAEC. These residential staff positions offer participants an opportunity to learn about different aspects of our program while getting valuable hands-on experience. OAEC has five internships available annually: two in the garden, two in the administrative office, and one in site maintenance. Internships range from six months to ten months in length, and start at different times of the year. For the longer internships, we provide a small rustic cabin or similar housing, use of all our facilities, access to OAEC's workshops, and a food subsidy in exchange for 25 hours of work per week. Interns who fill the dry-season positions of shorter duration are housed in a large tent or tipi. Interns also partake fully in community life, sharing meals, privileges and responsibilities.
