--------------------
Parlor Tricks scratches that hard to reach itch between Fats Waller and the Red Hot Chili Peppers; Madeleine Peyroux and Mumford & Sons. Playing pre-jazz originals and teens to 20's covers heavy on syncopation and stomp. We're all about acoustic era pop, that brief but magical late-century moment in musical history before Satchmo's Hot 5s & 7s would change everything forever -- but you'll also recognize the subtle flavor of Beggars Banquet Stones... Zeppelin III. No music, we guarantee, has ever been better for spooning!
Served with sultry vocals, resonator guitar & ukulele, upright bass and drums. You can find us at ParlorTricksMusic.com. Our eponymous record is available on iTunes and at our NY-based label (Garagistamusic.com).
"PARLOR TRICKS does for syncopation what Amy Winehouse did for R&B; what Lady GaGa did for fashion panties."
Parlor Tricks is currently working on our new West Coast recording, for fall release; a collection that includes 'Lil Johnson's 1936 hit, "Was I (drunk, was he handsome, and did my ma give me hell)."
Please take a look and listen. Yours severely,
Eddie Scher
