Community
Grows (formerly Hayes Valley Neighborhood Park Group) was recognized in
2009 by Great NonProfits in the Small NonProfits category. OAEC trained
two teams from this program, which serves students from John Muir
School and the surrounding neighborhood. Some ways the urban garden
serves youth include: John
Muir Elementary School Green Schoolyard Project, the BEET Rangers Teen
Environmental Education & Green Jobs Training, and LetUsGrow Summer
