OAEC Wild Work Days
In 2014, join us twice a month in the backcountry for afternoons of wildtending. We will tackle projects together in the wildlands at OAEC, experimenting with management strategies that support the conditions conducive to abundance and resilience for a diversity of life. It is kind of like our Wednesday Garden Volunteer day, except we're tending the grandmother garden!
Come get dirty and geek out on the plants and animals and insects that make a home in the woods, and feel at home in wildness.
1:00pm - 5:00pm on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month, starting in March:
- March 6 & 20
- April 3 & 17
- May 1 & 15
- June 5 & 19
- July 3 & 17
- August 7 & 21
- September 4 & 18
- October 2 & 16
- November 6 & 20
- December 4 & 18
Meet in the OAEC "core area" and we'll head out to the backcountry at 1:00pm sharp! If you miss the start time, you won't know where to find us, so arrive at OAEC at 12:45pm to park. Please park in the upper Nursery lot (the second OAEC driveway on the right off of Coleman Valley Road).
Snacks, water, sun hat, long pants and sleeves (to protect from poison oak). If you have them, bring a pruning saw, Felcos, and gloves.
